One of the disadvantages that Android products have had vis- à-vis their Apple counterparts has been the reluctance of manufacturers to offer updates to Android in order to keep the devices current. This business model may perhaps be designed to «encourage» users to buy new devices when OS updates have been released, but I suspect that it has backfired, in that many users have decided to purchase an Apple product which, while both more dear and less capable, at least gets updated when a new OS is released (of course, mishaps may occur in the process, cf «Mapgate»). Hope this move on the part of Sony will soon be followed by an update to Jellybean, which seems to be a great improvement over Ice Cream Sandwich !...
