Apple was able to &amp;laquo;prove&amp;raquo; to the satisfaction of a hometown court that it was responsible for all those &amp;laquo;innovations&amp;raquo; and that Samsung was &amp;laquo;infringing&amp;raquo;, while similar cases were thrown out of court in both the UK and Japan. Of course, if one believes that the US is the navel of the universe, than what happens in the US &lt;span class="st"&gt;District Court for the Northern District of California is of far greater significance than everything else put together - but those of us who don&amp;#39;t happen to share that fond delusion may, perhaps, be excused for viewing things differently....&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
