Admittedly, one can do serious work with a tablet, so long as it has a docking station and a keyboard, but what is it then but a somewhat less convenient laptop/notebook ? At the same time, the observation that the success of tablets and smartphones will force PCs to change seems both correct and encouraging - the first change I'd like to see is not «touchscreens», which for ergonomic reasons I suspect are a dead end on laptops and stationary devices, but rather affordable screens and monitors that approach the resolutions in ppi that we are now seeing in smartphones and tablets. Can't wait !...

In my experience - I have been running dual/triple boots for years, most recently with Win7 Pro and Ubuntu 12.04 - the latter is far more agile and adroit than the former and demands much less of the hardware. For users who do not need extremely specialised programmes, many of which are unfortunately available only for Windows, the programmes readily available in the Ubuntu repositories or which can easily be downloaded from the web more than suffice ; to take just one example, LibreOffice provides me with more services and is easier to use than MS Office 2010. I doubt, however, that Lenovo is going to take my reflections into account when making their marketing decisions....

One minor point - the cut -and-paste was not from any of my posts, but rather from NotRappaport's first post. With respect to the question of contradictory messages from Samsung - as per NotRappaport's link and that provided in my reply above - when I now access the latter, I find that it has been corrected and the A6-4455M found on the Series 5 535 13.3” Notebook is indeed confirmed to be a dual-core processor. Thus, like NotRappaport, I submit that the first period in the second paragraph of the above article, which begins «The Samsung Series 5 535 13.3-inch (1366x768 resolution) laptop sports an AMD quad-core A6-4455M APU clocked at 2.1GHz ...» should be corrected to reflect this fact....

I find the TN panels with 1366 x 768 resolution on these notebooks disappointing, especially coming from a leader in screen innovation like Samsung, but hopefully in the near future, manufacturers will deem it worth their while to provide users with better screens....
