To be honest, it kind of concerns me. I don't own a Wii U, and don't plan to, but I grew up loving Nintendo. I even liked the GameCube to some extent. I hated the Wii. It'd be rather amazing if it did in fact come back from the dead. Is there an example of that happening before? I sure can't think of one (I am talking never-released-before games, not those that shut down after launch and came back later).

I'm pretty interested to see where this goes. I would have even opted for a "YouTube Plus" sort of account where you get to skip pre-roll ads and things like that. In fact, I think I would have preferred that over subscriptions to individual channels, but I might change my mind when I actually see what those channels are.

I use Facebook for friends and business, and then Twitter almost like an RSS feed, where I subscribe to everything I want and then just check back daily to see what's new. I try to keep Facebook "spam" like that to a minimum if I can.

I find this a little surprising, but it's not like gamers will be without other options. Those who know better are already using them.

A beta for Portal became available just the other day as well. It's funny - I recently re-started Portal 2 because I was getting impatient with waiting for it to come to Linux. But the way things are going, it's bound to hit soon. Getting a little anxious for Half-Life 2 on Linux.
