  • Re: VIA Launches New Low Power QuadCore Nano CPU

I remembered there was a Dell Duo computer with a keyboard, and a touchscreen laptop screen. 2009 release. INTEL atom, 1GB, 320Gb hhd, etc. I got curious if AMD was to put a VIA 1.2 Ghz 4 core, 2 Gb, 40 SDD... Would that sell better?

  • Re: AMD Whips Up Two New FX Processors

    Agreed. The computer parts can make a decent gaming computer for $900ish. FX 4core - $100 - $120, Cooling - Cosair 70 ($70 -80) or Nautica AMD edition ($70 - $100) HDD $80 (500Gb, 5400rpm), 4Gb memory $30,CD drive (free, burrow from old computer), 7770 graphic card $130 - $150 (480 Steam cores?) , or Ti 550/560 (196 CUDA core?) $150 motherboard $150

  • Re: AMD Whips Up Two New FX Processors

it is good that the AMD processors is satisfying the supply-demand ratio. If it beats i5 (65 watts, 2.4ghz) I am amazed. But the processor is power-hungary (4/6/8 cores @ 125 watts, 4.3 Ghz(max)) - needs powerful coolants systems to lower heat tempretures... Still the price is good for overclockers or average joes that builds an above-average+ gaming

  • RE: AMD Zacate E-350 Processor Performance Preview

AMD wins with 1.5 - 2.8 ghz E350 processors with 15 - 35 watts, with 80 radeon cores (230 - 450mhz) ; which beats the INTEL's Atom, Celeron, and the pentium (released until 2006 editions)... AMD is popular to provide the majority of people with a technology gadget. In my opinion that is a successful enterpreneurship - to market and sell processors

  • Re: Bulldozer benchmark out of the bag.

8 cores is good for high-computing data crunching for supercomputing not for the high end gaming. I7 has 8 threads, 4 cores, speedstep, HT, etc vs AMD 8cores, 8threads, etc... obiviously when a processor has a certain size, placement of level cache(s), etc the spacing and the watts used determines the speed or the efficency of the processor. • Re: How does Xeon E 5645 2.4 GHz compare to i-7 2600K 3.4 GHz ?

I7 OR I5 is more affordable than the Xeon. It depends on what you use the processor for. The high-level calculation or some high-reliability number/chemistry/etc jobs needs the Xeon (workstations) which is not a gaming computer. Slower (as in graphics) upgrade graphics card. Processing power - slow because your using the processor for other reasons

  • Re: 2nd generation i5s and i7s are really worth it?

gamer or not a gamer.... the 2nd generation intel processors are faster than the "core duo or the pentium" (outdated processor). The i3 (2nd gen); is faster than intel duo or intel pentium. The $100 or $200 in the 2nd gen intel processor is worth your time to research and put forth investment.

  • Re: Trying to decide between a LGA1155 CPU or LGA 2011CPU?

1155 processors for mainstream. 2nd generation. http://ark.intel.com/products/52214 2011 processors for high end processing (2011 would be bang for the buck deal.) $50+ is better Flops/Watt performance. 3rd generation. http://ark.intel.com/products/63698 Go with 2011 processor. The setup is new (may cost more); if you are not keen with spending more

  • RE: AMD Trinity A10-4600M Processor Review

great for bioinfometrics (future reference) - when rendering 100 - 500 particles - the AMD core system (384cores/500mHz, 4 core, 35 watts) *10 systems - head node; server node; 8 system(body render) nodes + 7750(9 graphic card) + 7770 graphic card. there will be approximately 56%+ increase in graphic performance from 2nd generation AMD systems. there
