I had been really thinking about getting a smartphone (I don't really need one, but it would be nice to have), especially with rumors of family data plans, etc. Now I'm thinking I'd rather save the money.

I enjoyed the round-up a lot, but isn't the Z68 chipset the way to go? What have these got over that newer, more fully featured, chipset?

Notice that these people in the picture are actually looking at each other. How often is someone actually looking at you in a Skype conversation? Eye contact would make Skype so much nicer, but it's tough given that you can't really have a camera inside the screen very easily. I only see that getting worse if you use Skype with your TV. Skype

It's been almost a year without updates. I imagine that I'm like most PC Boxee users - I've moved on to something else by now (XBMC and Plex). They'll have to get their track record back before I'll be interested in Boxee again.

There seem to be several laptop makers that are just tied to Intel - I wonder how much this will change with more capable Fusion APUs. I haven't had an AMD laptop yet due to their lack of performance in the mobile space, but I'm definitely going to have to compare AMD and Intel more the next time I'm due for a new laptop. Finally some competition

Optimus, I got one of these for my parents and another for my in-laws last Christmas. They all love the UI, and my parents even cut cable because of it (not because they watch less TV, but because they watch more Netflix now). It's pretty easy to get it set up. Definitely recommended.

Huge win for Roku. I love my little Roku in our bedroom, and sometimes wish our HTPC could play Roku channels because it's so much easier for everyone to use. It seems like developers have been pumping out the Roku channels lately, too, which is awesome. More Roku users to the party is a great thing.
Simple enough right?
I guess you haven't played video games with my wife. Seriously, though, I think it could get really confusing. The Wii U is compatible with all of my existing Wii controllers (remotes, nunchucks, classic controllers, balance board, gamecube pads?), plus the new tablet screen controller

What I still haven't figured out is how this is supposed to bring more people to gaming - doesn't it seem like a two-screen gaming system would be confusing for a new gamer? Which screen should I look at? OK, now I can play games with the TV off, but how do I do that? Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty excited to see the Wii U, but I don't

I wonder if this is an issue of "you need to see it to believe it". I've heard a few reviewers state that the controller felt like it worked well even though it looks huge and bulky. I'm personally in "wait and see" mode. What would really sell this for me is the fact that I could keep playing while someone else took over
