The top of the line W870 with 920M, 8GB RAM, 1SSD, 1HDD comes in around 4K. Which is a good deal for a i7 machine. The prices are almost identical though the casing could be more flashy for a 4k machine. There are no options on the color as well. This thing with a flashy iBuyPower Tiger logo glowing on the lid would be AWESOME. They could also make

The Core i7 configured W870CO Cheetah is a better bet considering that mobile i7 has already been out for some time now and a update is in a very immediate future. Buying a Core 2 series is investing loads on a 2 gen old proc.

I am looking at building something like this. If its rightly priced I would buy it. I have 2 x 1TB WD drives connected to my desktop right now and I'm in serious fear of losing data is something goes wrong.

Im not sure which professional captures HD Vid on his Still cam. That too after paying north of 5k. This HD Vid mode makes more sense on a D70/700/90 or some other similar mid range. Atleast D90 users would use it for the intended use.

This think lacked the network port from the start. I wanted it so bad as most of BD & HD rips are sitting in my Desktop's HDD. No one ever would wanna keep HD content moving rather than on a Home server. This is a very good feature. I had plans for a Home server setup for my new home. Now I can set it up around this with a nice 46-52 incher

^Bob Yes, screen resolution is one major issue with last gen atoms. I have a Acer Aspire One and it never shows the awesome windows 7 boot screen simply because MS has set a precondition on boot that it has to be 1024 x 768 minimum and these have native (read unchangeable) 1024 x 600. :( Oh BTW, I have win 7 RC on mine too.

IHMO, NVIDIA is trying to build a Gaming Rig without any dependency on CPUs. May be they are doing a Gaming "ION" platform. Dream Gaming "ION" platform Specs: NVIDIA Cuda with L3 Cache & Core rated @ 3GHz and a atom 330ish proc jus for Handling the OS Part. Completely running outta GPU power. Imagine plonking one of these on

Nice 1 Realneil ..:) But realistically they can make a 512GB SSD (currently costing north of $1500 mark) to cost under $150 and it is sure to sell in million if not bilions. ;). Till then I don't think anything higher than 8 - 16GB would sell as the stock HDD from OEM. IMHO.

Alienware never cease to amaze. But IMHO, its little struggling under DELL. I, for one, would not want to see Alienware die similar to other acquired brands!!
