• Re: HD4770x2 / GTS250

The 4770s is definitely the superior option when it comes to two cards. They compare to a 4890 which is similar to the GTX 275, but they crossfired cards should be a touch faster than both of them.

  • Re: HD4850 vs 8800GT?
any thing that has come out in the past 6 months to a year from each company should provide a gain in performance... I was looking at the egg and it seems that the HD4850 costs about 160-200. for that price you could get a Evga 260GTX or 9800+ GTX... I think they would be by far the better upgrade
Delusional

The 4850 would be a solid upgrade over the 8800GT. You should definitely give it at ry.

  • Re: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 Mainstream GPU

This has Geforce 4MX written all over it. Sell old tech looking like new tech, profit. The under pants gnomes would be proud. It is interesting to see this compared to the 4850 eveywhere as clearly everyone started the reviews before the 4870 price cuts which now are at the GTS 250 level. So most of these reviews are out dated the moment they were published

  • Re: Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 X2 2G GDDR3

Great card in my experience so far. It runs a bit loud but the later official drivers have helped solve that issue with adjustable fan speeds. At the current price of 250-280 it is one of the best values and runs neck in neck with the GTX 285 at 50-100 cheaper.
