It will be interesting to see if the rumors of "7" will be modular and subscription based. If they release another "turkey" like Vista, I can see more people moving to linux and mac. I keep one system setup with XP Pro, just so I can play games. To many game developers drank the DirectX coolaid.

I have read that it will void the warranty cracking open the case. But if you are past your warranty period and want to do something "cool" with your xbox, this does look tasty. if you have the skillz and time, check out what this guy did: http://benheck.com/02-03-2008/xbox-360-elite-laptop

I agree with warlord, the features are very cool. But like you, not enough to get me away from thunderbird and evolution. 3vi1, didn't you know that Microsoft patent all of THEIR content and ANYONE else's they can get away with? Microsoft has either bought or stolen a large amount of IP over the years. Yeah, I am a bit cynical

I don't disagree with you, the newer cards (albeit louder and rear-exhaust in higher modules) do a decent job. We are testing a GTX280 MSI stock in our lab for a client right now. It is averaging 62c @ 31c ambient under 3Dmark2006 loop testing. I personally have one of the original 8800GT's from XFX before the fan improvements. Under testing

The spec's and performance of the 4870 cards can't really be ignored. But I have to wonder about something; why are they not using a cooler that exhausts out the back of the chassis? The 3rd party cooler is already taking up two slots, so why not exhaust the hot air? Coolers in that design do nothing but keep the same air circulating around

I agree with you rapid. Getting whitebook shells is not easy. Newegg has a listing for the OCZ model of the Compal FL92 and all they really did was slap their logo on it and bumped the price. Most of the time, you have to get a pre-configured model or have to configure a full system on the resellers site. Sites like Xoticpc.com and RKcomputer.net have

Thanks, I came across that avatar somewhere and have been using it ever since. The spec's released for the notebook don't match up the image. That image is from a prior launch of the SRR (Santa Rosa Refresh) JFL92. They are publishing spec's for something that they don't even have pictures of yet.

While the spec's are nice, I am surpriced that they used the image from the OCZ branded Compal JFL92. They should have used a more representative image. dreadmonkey
