I haven't heard a thing that would lead me to believe their would be a compatability issue. I will say however that the HD4870 is a much better buy as it has a bang for the buck value the GTX280 can't touch. The 4870 comes so close to the 280 in some benchmarks and actually wins a couple that the price premium for the 280 looks like a waste

The reason I remember it being wrong was that the temp probe didn't actually touch the die and some heat was lost in reaching the probe. That being said, I can understand it being low as heat will dissipate as it travels, but how would it be high?

Ditto to everything said above. Not to mention two 1Gb sticks will usually cost you less.

Bob's right on all points. If you go to FrozenCPU, make sure the wife sees the prices as she looks. LOL. A lot of the really nice looking cases can start at $500 and go up.

Last I heard the BIOS (And any software that reads the BIOS for temps) is 8-10 degrees c low. Is that still the case?

Sweet. my Dad had 2 CBs. One in the car and one in the house. We had an antenna on the house that NASA could see from orbit. :)
