If the maps automatically update for free it easily justifies the cost of the unit. I have a garmin now, and have to spend $80 a year on map updates. Also I would like to know if the app has the ability to plan commercial vehicle routes. I want to download the app and check the commercial vehicle stuff before I commit to buying the unit. I have never thought talking on the cell phone while driving was any more dangerous then talking to the passenger. As long as you are not dialing or looking down at the phone what is the difference? I grant that dialing and texting (which I have done both)while driving is more dangerous then simply resting the phone on your shoulder while you chat,
