• WOL no longer working

My Wake On Lan used to work fine. However, for the last two or three months, it's no longer working. I don't remember changing anything in the computer. When I checked, the NIC no longer lights when the computer is turned off. Any suggestion is much appreciated.

  • How to setup RAID in HP Z800?

I tried creating a RAID by Ctrl+i in my HP Z800 but for some reason it does not show the full size. I have two 3TB hard drives (one HP brand and the other Seagate) and instead of 3TB shows up, it only show 746.5GB. Any suggestion why? I put in a 1.5TB Seagate in as well and this drive shows its full size fine. So, does this has something to do with

  • Re: How to setup WOL on an old Del Precision Workstation?

Thanks for the response. For some reason I got it to work. I'm not sure why. However, trying to wake the computer over the Internet does not work. I got it turn on locally though. My guess is it may have to do with my Linksys E3000 router.

  • How to setup WOL on an old Del Precision Workstation?

I have been following tutorials on Youtube like this one and I could not get my old Dell Precision 670 Workstation to wake on lan.I have also setup my Linksys E3000 router to accept a UDP port 9 with local IP address of 192.168.1.102. My question is, according to the video in my link above, under the Advanced tab of the NIC configuration properties

  • Will HPZ800 take Intel Xeon X5690 CPU?

Does anyone know if the HP Z800 workstation is able to take the Intel Xeon X5690 processor? If so, when buying this processor, what other accessories should I be considering? I'm not buying it right not but I like to keep my eyes open in case the price come down to my level.
All you need is a splitter such as these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882750035 Although, generally your video card is going to have two outputs. Typically you'll have 2 outputs, one being DVI, and the other being one of these: HDMI, VGA, DVI, Display port, and the mini versions of some

  • Re: Dual monitor
It would but there's really no purpose or need to have a dedicated graphics card for each monitor. Even low end and integrated GPU's have multi-monitor support and will work fine as long as you're not trying to dual-monitor game (also not ideal so I don't see why you'd be doing that)
So,

  • Re: Dual monitor

We have a bunch of same brand/type of single monitor video card laying around. We also have some monitors. So, I like to know if I can just put two of this video cards in one computer and utilize dual monitors. I was not sure Windows would handle two video cards connecting to two monitors and have them work in extended mode. Many thanks for the response

  • Dual monitor

Instead of having one video card that have two monitor out, is it possible to have two of the same brand/type of video card for a dual monitor? Will it work if I have two physically video card in the same computer that each have one monitor out for a dual (extended) monitor?

  • Re: 3TB Seagate showed up as 746GB, why?
Convert to gpt disk.
I saw this option there but was not sure what GPT disk means. Anyway, you hit the nail on the head. It worked!! However, I think all the steps I've taken above also allows me to see this GPT option being available. It was not there before I install the Seagate software. Anyway, I am so
