From the ads that I've seen. It seems like HP is trying to make their products unique and artistic like they're trying to distance themselves from when they purchased Compaq and you know how that went. I also feel that with the intense competition from Apple, this purchase kind of makes sense...

Hmm some good, Palm will live on, their management will continue to manage the company. Bad HP has killed quite a few innovative products after taking control of them. I'm a bitter OpenMail fan, anyone remember that? A WebOS tablet could be interesting if done right. I guess the iPAQ is finally dead...

Palm has always had good hardware [sometimes made by HTC]. The Palm OS phones were always good, the Windows Mobile ones that they started making weren't so great. I have a feeling they are takeover bait, a company with a good product and some innovation which has money issues.

The big question is will Pre owners pay for any apps/games? One reason the app store concept works for Apple is some people will actually buy apps [even bad ones]. Now with the Marketplace in Windows mobile and the Android store no one wants to buy squat. Is anyone buying apps on the WebOS store?
