Thanks for the heads-up, Ray ! Perhaps I'm no longer limited to NVidia cards and can now consider replacing my ancient GeForce 7900 GTX with a Radeon model ! As noted in Ray 's article, this new driver is said to work with Ubuntu 12.10 - anybody here know if it also works with 12.04 LTS ?......

Marco , I note that here, as usual when it comes to graphic-card tests, it seems to be the case that a monitor with a 16:10 format - at 1920 x 1200 pixels and 2560 x 1600 pixels, respectively - has been used. I haven't, however, been able to find any information on just which monitor was was chosen...
