I just joined Team HH! The user name, of course, is ClemSnide.
In the old days, I had fun with another distributed process, SETI@home. I'm still on my clunker, so I may not contribute an enormous amount. But If I win that i7 rig HH is giving away, that would improve my score, and thereby Team HH. Not that that should influence your decision, but y'know, it would be best for all of us. .)
Seriously. I tried setting it up with an older hardware configuration and had troubles, so I put it on the back burner and just now got it working. Cross fingers!

Congrats to you, sir.
Cool If you need any help with it dont hesitate to ask. And Welcome to the team!!

I'm coming for you transam02!
At this rate, I'll be caught up in a couple of hundred years. :)
175th? Piker!
Hey, it's all about doing some good with those wasted computer cycles. I just wish F@H would launch at startup-- it doesn't seem to want to under Win7.
Clem- What folding clients are you using?
To tell you the truth, and coming from a medical background, Stanford team hasn't done much with the computer power available to them. Given the same power to Dr. Ghiorse over at Cornell or Dr. Guidotti over at Harvard and you'd have seen a couple of Field medals by now.
But I think F@H isn't as much about helping science, as much as it has become a competition between highly competitive computer geeks.
With that in mind...Yay, i'm 175th and climbing!!
@transam02: The Windows system tray version 6.23, build of November 26 2008. Its shortcut is in my Startup folder but it doesn't launch at startup; when I do it manually it always gives me the UAC dialog asking me whether I really, really want to perform the action I, a college-educated adult, just did on my own computer. (Sorry. I'm annoyed at Win7 at the moment.) I did reduce the length of time between checkpoints, as my computer crashes and restarts 5 or 6 times a day.
@gibbersome: I have to take peoples' word for whether it's actually doing anything good, but I hope it will. I've gotten my entire improv class into folding; and you're right, I do like the rankings, but more than that I like the idea of being a small part in good works. As do all of us, I believe. It's just a wonder that my old AGP 8x Radeon 3870 is able to do much at all!
I've had to retire my laptop from folding due to overheating issues.
But that new Origin PC HH is giving away will be a folding beast!
hahah! that it will!

As long as you keep feeding it liquid helium as it cranks stuff out at 7Ghz! :-D

I just recently got back into folding and found this thread, I didn't even know you guys had a team! I thought I'd give this thread a bump so others will see it too :D
I haven't done much folding in the past but I hope to start racking up the points soon
I'm going to add your team # to my account shortly :D
PS, I'm VixenX on F@H

The GPU client sucks pretty bad and slows down your machine to a crawl. But the SMB client worked pretty well for me without causing a performance loss for general use. Plus I started running the PS3 client on that thing as well.
I'm now running 4 instances of F@H, 3 on my laptop (2 console and 1 CPU) and one on my PS3. I have HH's team # listed on 2 of them so hopefully the WUs start pushing out a bit quicker. :D
I might not be saying it right, but this is what my desk top looks like....
I just use FAH Track V2 from http://fahtracker.com/ it will download all the clients and help you pick all the right clients for your machine :)
You can't get quite as many points with it as you can if you know exactly how to setup your system but it worked pretty well for me.
i just joined so if anyone wants to give me some more heads up as how i can continue to help. Im sad this forum isnt even in the top 100. i have mine running now.
What is the current number of active folders on the team?
Also, how long has this team been up? I'm surprised you guys aren't in the top 100 yet...
I would fold, but I don't have a powerful enough PC to even do any good, or have it worth my time. When I get a chance (And the $$$) to upgrade I will definitely help you guys out :3
