Not surprising to me at all. I don't know how many times I've heard Apple enthusiasts gush about the 64-bit architecture. It's not about the 64-bit arch now, though some day it may be. Right now it's about a highly tuned core, software and a great graphics core. Going 64-bit only buys you so much.

Thanks Joel Hruska for hurting my brain. But seriously i enjoyed reading that article. Very very deep. Now im here to turn this into an android/samsung vs apple debate but while i do want my android phones to include 64-bit architecture im more so looking forward to samsungs planned 14nm processors. That will really bring some good things to the table. I could be wrong but that would probably more helpful in terms of performance than the 64-bit architecture.
3DMark benchmark only illustrates that 3DMark doesn't reflect the true performance potential of the CPU but rather how well unoptimized legacy games will perform. And, in this case, they'll perform about the same. Hardly though is a reflection of the A7 SoC since the A7 houses enough GPU assets to leverage them for this type of task. Scalar code, will however benefit from the A7's added features. Especially when they are recompiled with the A7 as the new target.
