It’s official: the next iteration of Activision’s Call of Duty series is nigh, and far from being just another entry into the Modern Warfare series, it’s an all-new game with new characters, new setting, and even a new engine. Activision is calling it a “leap forward” for the franchise.

You can preorder your copy of “Call of Duty: Ghosts” for Xbox, PS3, or PC starting today at a variety of retail outlets worldwide, and there will be some first looks available on May 21st (at 10am PDT) on Xbox.com, Xbox LIVE, and SPIKE TV.

CoD: Ghosts

For now, enjoy this teaser trailer:

The video shows a series of menacing masked warriors plucked from different times and cultures in history with a voice overdub that expounds on the many reasons why warriors have historically worn masks. It ends with what looks like special forces soldiers donning masks “to protect us all”.

We’re not sure we want to be protected by these guys, but we definitely want to pretend to be them in a video game.

Well hopefully Call of Duty can make itself relevant again with a new engine and not the same crap from the last 5 games.

Yeah sorry... I think COD passed the point of no return a long time ago...

The only thing that the new engine will do is eat up the new resources the new consoles have to offer, while still being far behind...

The visuals may be fairly good for a console game when it comes out, but the problem is, it's still going to be Call of duty...

PC Specs:

  • AMD Athlon 64 x2 6400+  Cooled by a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus (push-pull)
  • 2GB DDR2
  • MSI Radeon HD 6450 2GB
  • Stock Dell motherboard
  • 250Gb HDD
  • XFX Pro Core edition 650W PSU
  • Stock Dell inspiron case

Well I would still wait until game play releases. I haven't touched the CoD series since MW2 but this could be something or it could be the same crap. Either way with a nov. 5 i believe release date I will be buying BF4 first :P
