Brace yourselves, folks: The complaints will be coming hard and fast, mostly via Facebook, as the social juggernaut is planning to yet again tweak its look by rolling out a revamped Newsfeed.

All the details will be revealed on March 7th at a press event on Facebook’s Menlo Park (California) campus, but a few folks have snuck a look ahead of time. TechCrunch’s Josh Constine claimed that he saw a working version of the mobile Newsfeed in person and stated that it “creates separate feeds for a few different content types including news and photos”. Navigation entails swiping sideways through a story at a time, which sounds terribly slow but may be effective if there are indeed separate feeds for various types of content.

There’s unfortunately not much else to report, so we’ll all have to wait and see if this is a minor tweak of the Newsfeed or if it’s a massive overhaul. Further, Constine saw just the mobile version of the Newsfeed, so it’s hard to say what the desktop version might be like even if what he saw was the real deal.

The only thing that’s certain is that most people will hate it initially, carp about it liberally, start petitions on Facebook demanding that Mark Zuckerberg change it back to how it was, and then after a few weeks forget that anything was ever different at all.

Still no sign of a filter for those damned "Say a name that doesn't have the letter "a"!" shares.

Well there is already alot of stuff going on over on the left-hand side of my Facebook page that I don't really understand. For instance, what the heck is the difference between a "Pages Feed" and a "News Feed"? And I don't even want to mention the right-hand side activity. There's a party going on over there and I wasn't invited or something.

But that's all "good in the Facebook 'hood". Luckily, I found a browser plug-in (that is in continuing development by a really sharp dude) that attempts to "control" all that nonsense. It's called, appropriately enough, "Social Fixer". Look it up and test it out. No, I ain't a paid spokes-model for the darn thing, I'm just trying to be helpful during this uncertain time of Sequestration. Is that so wrong?

Page feed is just pages you've "liked".  News feed is everything.

Honestly, the entire facebook site and iOS mobile app have always felt a little buggy to me.  Especially the mobile app, that thing hasn't worked right since release.
