Based on Scully's track record with Apple, they should probably do the exact opposite if whatever he says.

A lower-cost iPhone could work if they did it right; Apple's done really cool things with its iPod nanos, for example. It's just that starting from the need to fill a market niche and effectively reverse-engineering a product to fit is a sketchy proposition.
I was going to say the same thing. Not to mention, a ton of people have already given off the same recommendation already.
Apple doesn't make cheap products. Valueless, yes, but not cheap.
