I find it humorous that The Verge claims Ubuntu's phone can never succeed due to its slower roll-out of releases, yet this is what happens when a company can release regularly. I find it a sad thing that if your Android device is more than a year old, it's pure luck if you actually get more upgrades.
It just seems that android is going to be fragmented for the foreseeable future. When it comes to updates iOS is still king, let's see how wp8 does since wp7/7.5 didn't fare too well with updates either, while android is horrible waiting months for an update that has already been replaced by the time most get to download it and some devices never getting an update.
Google REALLY needs to put a stop to custom UI's not only does it fragment user experience but it prevents timely upgrades.
Got ICS on my HTC one X, and im pretty happy with it for now. I might leapfrog Jelly bean and get the next OS that comes out.
