This is a cool announcement and it's awesome to see them giving people what they want.
I don't think this will result in any exponential growth greater than already exists with the Raspberry pi . It'll just mean that people using it for "headless operations" and very specific things that don't require the capabilities of the B model will have something that costs less and is better suited towards its desired application.
The A model isn't something you can do more with, it's something you can more efficiently and at a better price point than can be done with projects that currently use the B model but not all of it's resources.
Wasn't this same article just posted 1-2 weeks ago? Unless I'm getting what I read on the wikipedia page mixed up, I thought this was already on the site.
I think the article posted earlier was that this was being announced and now it's been released
