PC gamers are in for a treat. I can confidently say that after watching the latest Dead Space 3 trailer, which looks every bit as spooky as fans of the franchise were hoping, but also features great voice acting and sound effects. In the event Dead Space 3 turns out to be a turd, it will have nothing to do with cinematics or the ambiance.

Developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts, Dead Space 3 is a survival-based third-person shooter that follows protagonists Isaac Clarke and Sergeant John Carver as they battle reanimated human corpses on a frozen planet called Tau Volantis. There will be two ways to play the game: alone as Clarke or in co-op mode. The trailer shows both types of game play (WARNING: NSFW due to a single F-bomb at around the 18-second mark):

"Fighting alongside a co-op partner changes the way you play the game," Visceral Games explains. "While playing the co-op version of Dead Space 3’s campaign, you will uncover additional story elements, cut-scenes, and battle strategies that are exclusive to this mode. Play how you want - immerse yourself in the classic single-player campaign with Isaac Clarke, then discover how the story evolves when a co-op partner is present in your campaign."

Dead Space 3

Dead Space 3 is available for pre-order on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Barring any last minute delays, it will ship on February 5, 2013 in the U.S. and in other territories shortly after.

I never got into any of the other dead space games, but this one is enticing.  I have a place in my heart for games with good co-op gameplay.  I'm just curious if this is going to be LAN only.  I highly doubt that, but you never know.

DS2 wasn't as scary as the first one, and seems like this one's going to be as action oriented. But that's not neccessarily a bad thing. I still loved DS2, and the story and world is getting really fascinating. I've even watched someone of the god-awful animated movies just to get some more background info.

I'm with you on this one too Dorkstar, I tried Dead Space II but just couldn't get into it although it had some fun points to it like occasionally literally scaring the crap out of me.

It's one thing to enjoy some shock and thrill by yourself but another thing entirely to enjoy it with another person. Hopefully the co-op will be doable online and through the same device too.

They're the kind of creatures that make you wonder about the people who were able to come up with them haha
