I didn't even know this existed. Does this work on Android tablets too?
This is obviously neat for anyone traveling internationally, or to those few spots in the US you don't want to be at. But, my experience with QQ/3d barcodes on phones is that no one really uses them, or the employees don't know how to do it, we just aren't really there with the technology yet. The only place I've seen successfully use it was Starbucks.
Sounds spooky - and, indeed, more than a little overbearing - to me. Do people really want their «phones» (minicomputers) to «autonomously» offer them suggestions as to what they should do and where they should go ? Without having been asked ?...

Yeah. It's not different then having location services turned on your mobile phone. I'd rather my phone know where I want to go eat, rather than know my exact location.
Without your asking it ?!! Brrrrrr....
