Dang it!
I won't even be able to F5 Frenzy my computer for most of the day and when this gets announced!
I'll be taking a final during then and other than that continuing to cram.

I'm not sure what's worse, compulsively refreshing while on the computer, or not being able to check your computer at all for a huge announcement like this! haha

Not to mention it's got Mechanical Cherry Black Swithces,...

yep it sure does !  btw  got my paws on another brand of mechanical keys with Cherry Black Switches and sorta did my vinyl tubing version  [el really cheapo] 45 cent version of the O-ring  mod to tame a bit of  the' thwacky thwack' sound . It  worked out real great for me.

Would have to say that Marco was spot on in recommending me a mechanical keyboard with  the brown switches.  but since I somehow managed to win this one.with the blacks  it is certainly AOK  .Smile

It just takes everything up a notch or too.

*** yeah I know the Gigabyte is the sponsor for the keys, and the little vinyl rings can certainly tone it down a bit and thought to share, because one can almost hear some  good ol HH F5 thumping  on a giveaway thread in the cosmos. Smile

What does that mean by vinyl tubing version?
Also what's the O-ring mod?

HotHardware has many giveaways each year. They give excellent prizes too. The odds of winning here are very good.

well not tot jack the thread ...the O-ring mod is to add little O rings to tame a bit of the plastic thwack sound of the keycaps bottoming, out.the vinyl tubing version is similar to this post Mechanical keyboard o-ring mod  with a nice little example videoin the article.  I found the scissors cut cleaner with the .45 cent vinyl tubing that was easily available at the local hardware store.

Stay, and be ooonnneee of usss! Onnnnne of uuusss! But seriously, I came in 2 years ago at the tail end of a contest like this too, and since then I've won several free games and one of the best tablets in the market. There's always something like this every few months. Stay, be active, and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
