Apple today released an over-the-air (OTA) iOS update for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users that, among other things, squashes a bug that prevents the iPhone 5 from installing software wirelessly. That presents a bit of a catch-22, so if you're rocking an iPhone 5 that isn't able to update on your Wi-Fi connection, you'll need to install iOS 6.0.1 via iTunes or by downloading a patch.

In addition to the iPhone 5 update bug, iOS 6.0.1 addresses the following issues:
  • Fixes a bug where horizontal lines may be displayed across the keyboard
  • Fixes an issue that could cause camera flash to not go off
  • Improves reliability of iPhone 5 and iPod touch (5th generation) when connected to encrypted WPA2 Wi-Fi networks
  • Resolves an issue that prevents iPhone from using the cellular network in some instances
  • Consolidated the Use Cellular Data switch for iTunes Match
  • Fixes a Passcode Lock bug which sometimes allowed access to Passbook pass details from lock screen
  • Fixes a bug affecting exchange meetings

Apple Update

The update is about a 38MB to 48MB download, depending on device, and can be accessed by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update and clicking on Download and Install.
