Valve is getting into the Halloween spirit by serving up some monster savings on spooky titles through its Steam portal. Select scary and creepy titles have been marked down with big discounts as part of Steam's Halloween Sale, which features titles like The Walking Dead, Bioshock, Left 4 Dead 2, and many others at up to 75 percent off.

In fact, a good number of titles are 75 percent off, and there's a mix of games to choose from. Everything from Prototype (marked down 75 percent to $4.99) and Prototype 2 (down 50 percent to $14.99), to Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime (down 75 percent to $2.49) to Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack (down 50 percent, to $3.99).

Steam Haloween

There are 80 titles in Steam's trick-or-treat barrel, all of which will remain discounted until November 1st at 10 AM Pacific Time. Plants vs Zombies is in there too, but here's a protip: You can download it for free from October 30 through November 10 using coupon code PEAH8R, courtesy of Electronic Arts and the American Dental Association (ADA). While you're at it, print off some Plants vs Zombies coupons (PDF) to give the kiddies out trick-or-treating on Halloween.

"Prototype (marked down 75 percent to $499)"

I sincerely hope that's just poor editing. Five hundred bucks seems high for a game that doesn't even give hand jobs.

Steam usually has some great sales.

Dogs are great judges of character, and if your dog doesn't like somebody being around, you shouldn't trust them.
