um, am i reading this right? free kaspersky security? Does it have a monthly fee or something or is hothardware just that good?

Kaspersky is free after rebate. That's typical for a lot of the AV programs if you wait for the right moment. They either very cheap or free after rebate. When I used Kaspersky I used to get the new version every year for free.
