only 3.25gb RAM usable in windows 7 x64????

i have 4gb but only 3.25 is usable (win7 x64) - what gives???

Could be that the graphics is using the rest, Flier. My laptop has 8GB of RAM, but only 7.48GB is usable because of that reason.

I thought of that, but my gfx has 2gb, so If anything I'd have expected to see less than 2gb system RAM available.

But I've sorted it :) In MSCONFIG I'd recently changed the Boot options to use 3 cores instead of using the default option. changing back to default now shows all 4gb usable.

very strange....

All I can think is messing with the boot.ini puts the OS into some kind of 32bit compatibility mode (3.25 gb is also what I saw in XP x32, even with the 2gb gfx card).
