Full versions of Microsoft Office are coming to both the iPad and Android devices as early as November, according to a report from BGR. Citing a “reliable source”, the site said that Microsoft already has the iPad version running in some capacity.

Office for iOS and Android should run our old friends Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and assuming the source is indeed reliable, it will be interesting to see how Microsoft handles input and formatting. This could be a really wonderful set of apps, or it could be a disaster.

BGR also noted that a few months ago, The Daily spotted an iPad running Office, and Microsoft replied (to another news outlet) that the image was a fake. Whether today’s rumor vindicates BGR or not remains to be seen, but we’ll hope that it’s the former, as we’d love to see Office on our mobile devices pronto.

Getting an android tablet in the near future made me think, what's the current equivalent to Office on Android? Like if I want to type a paper or open a powerpoint presentation or something, what do I use? Never used an Android device before, so I have no clue.
