AMD just recently launched a new set of drivers that will be of particular interest to staunch Windows XP users. With the release of Catalyst 12.4, AMD's highfalutin Radeon HD 7900, 7800, and 7700 Series graphics cards will play nice with Microsoft's legacy OS, helping you stave off the inevitable upgrade to Windows 7 or 8 (go ahead and skip Vista, folks).

Improved XP support isn't the only thing Catalyst 12.4 brings to the table. The new drivers also introduce texture filtering quality improvements, Level of Detail (LOD) image quality enhancements when enabling Super Sample Anti-Aliasing and Adaptive-Aliasing, and "significant performance enhancements" with Morphological Anti-Aliasing (MLAA).

Outside of performance tweaks, AMD managed to resolve an assortment of issues. You should no longer see flickering square corruption in Skyrim in Windows 7, for example, and the Catalyst Control Center now renders correctly when launched while playing a Blu-ray disc using WinDVD in Windows Vista.

You can download the newest Catalyst driver suite here.

Good to see them taking care of the XP crowd. There are still a whole lot of people using it these days. I didn't see a lot of change in my XFX-7770's performance after this upgrade.

Dogs are great judges of character, and if your dog doesn't like somebody being around, you shouldn't trust them.

Downloaded and installed on mine and Sarah's computer. I am hoping it helps her's as it has some issues at times lately that seem to be due to graphics lockups in Adobe apps.
