The usual suspects rolled out their own branded versions of the new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 graphics card last week, including EVGA. Today, EVGA announced a pair of overclocked graphics cards that take the performance afforded by the GTX 680 a step further.

The EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Superclocked boasts a boost clock of 1113MHz, base clock of 1058MHz, and memory frequency of 6208MHz. At stock speeds, those numbers are 1058MHz, 1006MHz, and 6008MHz, respectively.

The second of the two new cards is the Superclocked+, which has the same settings as the Superclocked but with a custom backplate. If you’re up for a little DIY fun, you can also simply buy the backplate separately for $19.99 and slap it on the Superclocked yourself.

You’ll pay handsomely for these beastly cards, though; the stock EVGA GeForce GTX 680 costs $499.99, and the Superclocked and Superclocked+ editions will run you $519.99 and $529.99, respectively.

Seems like a waste of money. PC gaming has passed its prime. All PC gamers get are poorly made console conversions that are so bad as to be almost a joke.

not true, BF 3 was made for the pc then converted to the consoles; now given some are made for the console then converted to pc like crysis 2 but when ever you compare any game converted or not they always look better on pc, graphics on pc surpassed consoles about a year

Lame. Maybe there are lots of ports, but having the best version of those ports plus exclusives makes it worth it. Besides, are you going to go up to someone who wants a sports car and tell them their car is a waste of money because most roads' speed limit is 70 mph? These things are for enthusiasts who want the best money can buy, and there are plenty of lower end options for people who want to have better performance than consoles on a budget.

I almost agree... Yeah, most PC games are just really poor knock offs, made for consoles and then ported over to PC, as if we don't matter. I feel like the market will grow though. I personally have gotten at least 3 of my friends to dump upwards of $1000 dollars into gaming PCs, and we LAN often. All the Console buddies realize that PC gaming is better.

We just need some exclusives or something

The one thing that makes PC gaming for me...

Personalizing of all my stuff through mods and pushing every ounce of performance out of the machine.

Plus? 3 monitor gaming with a 4th separate monitor? Yes please.

I am absolutely amazed companies never do this lol. For +10 or 20 dollars I guess the price is relatively low, but wouldn't you just go on the web and check for a free utility, I mean seriously it is not very hard to OC a GPU a little bit.

OS:Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit
CPU:Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 4770 ***
GPU:Geforce GTX 770 4GB

Agreed. especially when you can just download the program and overclock it yourself; hassle free and it saves you a few bucks.

These companies really need to stop making these types of products; it just seems like a scam, especially when the overclock itself is easily done on other cards.
