Acer announced five new slim LED monitors that range in size from 20 inches to 27 inches. All of the new monitors feature adjustable tilt bases, a 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and a 5ms response time. The Acer S Series use white LED technology which consumes up to 68 percent less power than standard LCD displays. Taking a closer look at some of the new models, the S235HL is a 23-inch model that measures just over half an inch thick. This monitor's I/O ports can be found on the base to help eliminate cable clutter. The 20-inch S200HL offers a resolution of 1600 x 900 along with dual inputs (VGA and DVI).

Two additional 23-inch widescreen monitors, the S230HL Abd and S230HL Abii, offer a resolution of 1920 x 1080. The S230HL Abd has two video inputs; one VGA and one DVI (with HDCP). The S230HL Abii offers three input ports; one VGA and two HDMI (with HDCP). Finally, the S271HL is a 27-inch widescreen monitor that supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080.

DVI and HDMI ports with high-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) support 1080p HD and allow for viewing of digital movies and copy protected media. The Acer S271HL bid LCD monitor will be available in April at leading online and traditional retailers and has an MSRP of $329.
