Named for a mean-sounding deity, iBUYPOWER’s Erebus GT is the latest rig in the Erebus series and features a reduced size and reduced price without sacrificing features.

Cooling is a major focus of the Erebus GT, with a top fill port, a reservoir that is accessible via the front panel, three radiators, and 13mm tubing capable of pumping 4.5 gallons per minute. For better airflow, the hard drive cages are removable and sport mounted fans, and the case features a unidirectional air flow design for 2500W of rated heat dissipation.

Those looking professional overclocking can also take advantage of iBUYPOWER’s PowerDrive Overclocking Service, which can boost your system by as much as 30%--all without jeopardizing iBUYPOWER’s warranty.

iBUYPOWER Unveils Next Generation of Darkness and Shadow -- Erebus GT Unveiled at CES 2012

LAS VEGAS – January 10, 2012 – iBUYPOWER, a leading innovator in gaming PCs, is excited to announce the Erebus GT. Name for the God Darkness, Erebus GT utilizes epic liquid cooling and overclocking abilities to reign supreme over lesser gaming systems.

The rugged steel and aluminum Erebus GT is similar to first generation system but has been redesigned to feature a smaller footprint without sacrificing cooling ability. Like original system, Erebus GT features a top fill port, built-in reservoir that can be checked through the front panel, and transparent fins on top to redirect exhaust to the rear of the chassis.

“The Erebus was an incredibly successful system, however we pay close attention to customer feedback and knew we could improve on the original design.” said Darren Su, Executive Vice President of iBUYPOWER. “As requested, we were able to reduce both the size and price of the system without significantly impacting performance. The slightly smaller Erebus GT is every bit the equal of the larger first generation model, armed with unmatched cooling capabilities and designed to be overclocked.”

New features, unique to the second generation include removable hard drive cages with mounted fans for improved internal airflow, larger 140mm radiators and an aluminum top panel. Three radiators and 13mm high flow tubing pump out 4.5 gallons per minute of cooling liquid to keep Erebus GT running ice cold. The smartly designed case creates a unidirectional air flow to help the cooling system reach a maximum rated heat dissipation of 2,500W.

Gamers looking to take full advantage of the Erebus GT’s unparalleled cooling capabilities can purchase iBUYPOWER’s PowerDrive Overclocking Service. Professionally trained and certified iBUYPOWER technicians can boost CPU performance by as much as 30% without the risk of system instability, crashes or damage to expensive components. All new systems enhanced with PowerDrive overclocking are fully covered under iBUYPOWER’s standard warranty.

If it wasn't for the fact that iBuyPower has a less than stellar customer service record; I'd be the first to recommend this computer ( top-performing CPU's, great GPU's [a choice of either AMD or NVidia], and old-school water cooling to boot), if I didn't build my own (and could actually afford to buy from one [of many] boutique vendors), I'd be all over one of these.

system specs

Intel i5 3570***, ASUS Sabertooth Z77, Corsair AX850, 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3, Corsair Force 3 Series GT  SSD (120GB), WD VelociRaptor (300GB), water-cooled HIS Radeon HD7950, AZZA Genesis 9000, EKWB Supremacy CQ CPU block, XSPC RX360, EKWB-DCP 4.0 pump, Windows 7 H.P. - 64 bit
