I got home from school and turn on my PC, the motherboard said "No keyboard detected"

Yesterday it was running fine no problem.

Motherboard: Crosshair V Formula

Keyboard: Thermaltake MEKA G1

The PS2 port somehow not working anymore, USB is fine
Any idea what causes this?

Don't know, did you try other keyboards to see if the problem persists?

More importantly, did you check the cable or pins on your keyboard to see if there's any damage? Normally any damage to the pins or cables will result in your keyboard not being detected.

Does the keyboard work if you plug it into the USB with out using the PS2 to USB converter?

Right now I removed that converter thingy (purple) and using USB only... I wonder if it make any difference in response time because I was told the PS2 is much faster than USB. Sounds hard to believe but I heard that before from a friend and that's why I used it since then.
USB works fine right now.

USB would be much faster. PS2 is a legacy port. thought very little data is actually sent by the keyboard.

USB is quite a bit faster than PS/2 most likely the adapter died and not the PS/2 port on the mobo.
