TaylorKarras:

So we got four musicians wanting this thing... It'd be a great surprise if you won this and gave it to your boyfriend, I mean he'd certainly know what to do with it if he knows his stuff with recording...

If you do win and he does get it, make sure to tell him to post what he made on the machine here, so we can hear what it sounds like to make music on the RoxBox.

I posted some of his stuff in the musician thread: http://hothardware.com/cs/forums/p/54030/414351.aspx#414351

Yes this one is very nice.

Everyone cannot win this singular system and I went to the website and was there for quite some time. They make some very nice set ups from what I can see. When you look at this one from a hardware perspective you can see the attention to detail. Although I personally would like the wiring internally more organized I am a hardware geek so I could do that.

It would in the long run make there systems more stable as far as I can see, but there is also no major issue really it is mostly aesthetics if you see what I am saying. The attention they have given to the internals with the basic flipping of the system so the airflow is in one direction (also generally opposite from a general PC construction perspective) and very definitely designed as such, and the PSU is flipped and reversed with the heat of the unit concentrating from the bottom front, then going out the bottom rear you can see there attention to detail. This layout also cools more directly there hard drive stack which is substantial obviously to the system.

Lol Aoshi, if you win you can do what ever you want.

If it was me though, I would first learn the installed software. There are quite a few fans of Cakewalk and Native Instruments out there, and rightly so. Those companies have put a lot of time and effort into developing their software, and musicians around the world compose with them.

Having said that, there are other worthy choices out there, such as Reason, and yes, FL Studio. FL Studio has been around for over 12 years, and they have gained quite a fan base of their own.

Just as almost any serious guitarist will have more than one guitar,I see no reason to limit oneself to just one solution, and would love the opportunity to work with some new software.

Come to think of it ... began posting a few pics of some of the great hardware that came my way yesterday in the What Did you today ? thread.

The thing about winning on here is not based on anything other than your input during a contest so anyone can win. I won a system from HH almost 2 years back now personally. The main thing is though it is a great community I was a member long before I won and have been an active member since I won as well. This site is Solid all the way around as is the community. I of course initially joined to win one which took a while. I have of course seen people join and win as well the same month or the month following.

Either way this is a great system especially for music production which is what it is made with an aim towards.

Yes that's very true elkhorn and somewhat singular as a prize machine being specifically made for sound editing/ sound studio work!

And in two weeks someone's music career will blow up into the sky...

If a musician wins this thing, I will be very very happy indeed... I mean we have very talented musicians in here. Even Manduh's boyfriend has played some very, very good stuff... If he had the RoxBox then just imagine where his career would be.

I hope a musician wins too! I'd hate to see someone rip a Rok Box apart to turn it into a gaming machine :( That would ruin the whole purpose of PcAudioLabs sponsoring the contest :(

And my bf says thanks Taylor! but he doubts his career will 'take off' though, lol "he's already 47 and has 2 albums out that nobody really knows about" I think he just needs someone to musically pimp him out, but he's too shy to perform. Plus, he hasn't found anyone he really likes to sing his songs for him. (He says he's NOT a vocalist) :D

But of course his productivity would sky rocket with this rockin' Rok Box, if I won!!  :D
