If he does become chief visionary then it won't be of any surprise to anyone, that guy just loves to make products; even when he's dying.
The fact that he's still employed at Apple still proves that he still wants to make easy to use products that work like magic.

I've not ever been a big fan of Jobs and his walled garden, even less so after reading Hertzfeld's book... but I must admit that he does have a knack for steering product design in a direction that appeals to the masses.

This makes sense as Steve co founded Apple and as I see it this might turn out to be a better strategy for Apple in the long run as Steve can now focus on innovation and the brilliant ideas he is know for.
