There comes a day in the life of every gadget where things just aren't as shiny as they once were. Specifications grow old. Designs fade. Lifestyles change. It's a sad day, but it's looming from the very day a gadget hits store shelves.

That day of reckoning has come for Dell's Streak 5, a tablet/phone combo that had a ton of hype behind it at launch, and leaves now with a dedicated page from Dell. It's clear that the product meant a lot to the folks in Round Rock, Texas, and it's even clearer that the impact will live on in Dell's future mobile portfolio.

"It's been a great ride," according to Dell. It's with a tear that many wish the tablet/phone goodbye, and here's hoping that Dell finds a way to introduce a successor at CES in just a few months.

So, to the existing Streak 5 owners, does it still get used on a daily basis? Any fond memories of the device?

Wow, that certainly did not take long. They did a pretty good job designing the Streak 5 so I agree let's hope they follow it up with an updated version.
