I agree with the sign although it should say Verizon and At&t are both evil to fully express the situation, and I guess they should also throw in the FCC, the Justice Department and heck I guess the entire government as well as it's 2 corporate boards the Republican and Democratic parties in all of each of there forms!
"We've come to the conclusion that an alien species has contaminated the Earth's water sources with a chemical that leads to an inability to negotiate..."
It's not the water. It's greedy Management refusing to negotiate with employees who want a reasonable living wage, adjusted for the increased costs of living caused by decades of Reaganomics. Look at Wisconsin, where the Government issued fiats to essentially criminalize organized labor negotiations, thus ensuring that competent teachers (among others) would move away from Wisconsin.
When Management starts thinking they own the employees, that's when the employees tell Management where they can stick their "negotiations."
Competitive pressure? Are you f*cking kidding me? There are only 4 damn cell companies and when it comes to land lines there are even less. If anything Verizon and At&t need to be split up as there is not near enough competition with all the damn price fixing these companies do.

""Verizon's reported revenues for 2011 came to $108 billion, including $6 billion in net profits.""
And 2011 isn't even over yet.
These companies make a crap-load of money and they aren't even willing to build sufficient bandwidth to support all of the data hungry phones that they're foisting off onto the public. What good is a magnificent, capable of anything phone if you can't use it's capabilities to the fullest?
They're planning to squeeze the public until we demand that the government pay to expand their networks for them.
Dogs are great judges of character, and if your dog doesn't like somebody being around, you shouldn't trust them.
I agree with you drago competitive pressure is a huge lie there is less pressure now then there has ever been. As for land lines many markets only have the choice of one telco.
@realneil that will be the day that the government pays to expand the networks, I really hope not at least. Though they could stand to force a certain amount of profits be invested back into the network each year.
omegadraco:that will be the day that the government pays to expand the networks, I really hope not
Just this ONE COMPANY made over 6 BILLION, (not million) in profits this year so far,.............But they really are all lax in bolstering their capabilities. Why not invest into their infrastructure? What holds them back?
The company that can offer truly unlimited service again will obviously get a heck of a lot of business, but they hesitate,.........
I think that they have some sneaky crap up their sleeves,.....and they're 'playing' the whole country. (can you tell that I don't trust any of them?)
