if you were to disable a pci-e slot would what ever is in it - sound card, gpu what ever stop drawing power?
I would assume that the PCIe slot would stop providing power to what ever device, unless it has an external power connector.

Z77 GIGABYTE G1.SNIPER
G.Skill Ripjaws X 16gb PC2133
Asus Blu-ray burner
Seasonic X650 PSU
Patriot Pyro 128gb SSD
i should have added that. if it had an external power supply like a a graphics card does would it stop drawing power, or would you have to remove the power cable?
It should stop drawing power from the PCI-E slot but I would agree that you would have to pull any external power connectors to have the card truly stop drawing power.
Any reason you would not just pull the card all together?
if it was an nvidia card working as a ppu. i would stop it drawing power when not using it/ a game didnt need physx.
I dont think the bios will allow that kind of switching like that. its either going to be on from start up of off from start up
