Nope,.....it doesn't go by post count. Lots of participation and positive, helpful posts usually help to get it done.

Well hell... I'm stuck with 3 year old hardware as well but it's still serving me fine. Sure, the power might be tempting but I'm waiting until either Bulldozer or Ivy Bridge is released and then I'm going to upgrade.

Still, Happy Birthday Jamie! Hope College treats you well!

Using 4 1/2 year old hardware here... It is still chugging along and mostly meeting my needs. The power is always tempting for those of us that are into the specs :)

Now it can take just a month or even less before new technology is introduced. That is why I love PC as technology. You can continue to keep up by upgrading here and there until the next generation comes out and you just upgrade the motherboard and essentials. It may be expensive but I still remember when I first opened my Gateway case when I was younger and installed some more memory sticks :)

Welcome to HotHardware Jamie, have a Happy Birthday and enjoy your college years :)

Yeah it gets expensive though, trying to stick with the latest and greatest, I had done that for a few years and wound up selling all the old stuff just to help pay for the new, that kind of works but eventually all the cockroaches in your cupboards go belly up and your girlfriend stops nagging you for being on the computer so much because she's sleeping with the guy across the hall so you wind up compensating with alcohol, eventually get evicted and next thing you know you haven't showered in a month and you're at a public library attempting to win a kewl tower to help get your life back on track.

okay, just kidding. Most of that never happened, except she did throw a shoe at my head. Seriously.

Wow your still using the Hamster? Time to upgrade. I got the Gerbil last month and it's WAY faster, plus it came with an ATI etch a sketch.

Now that's playing with power!

Was it heavy, and did she miss? You know, if she has a good arm then she's a keeper, just for the family picnic baseball games. Surprise
