1Gbps sounds like a lot of fun! but I have no real use for it ._.
Kansas City is very lucky... My city applied but did not go to anywhere near the extremes of many other places. 1Gbps speeds hopefully will become the norm soon. Google can crash the web very easily if they fired up all 6 of their web crawlers at one time and that just goes to show how much the internet needs to be beefed up.
Good for KC. Hope 1Gbps speeds will come to other communities soon as well!
Topeka was on track to receive it and it ultimately came down to “technical stuff”. Specifically it had to do with the cost of pole attachments and who owned the poles.
Ya they are lucky, but seeing all they did to get this, they deserved it :)
Also April fools is tomorrow... just to let you know ;) lol
Rofl; Very good point Inspector, I could not believe it when my coworkers said they won the lottery. It only figures I was not in for this last drawing. Either way Kansas city is lucky on this one can you imagine if your ISP came and said you would be on a 1Gbps connection for whatever the normal price is in your area. That would be and instantaneous connection, I wonder if your system would need greater resources such as memory etc to handle the info being shoved through it's Ethernet. I imagine you would need at least cat 6E cabling in your house to if not better.
WTF!!!!!!!!!! I can't even get 2mb down where i live DAMN IT!
I'm packing and moving right the hell now!
HHGrrl:Hope 1Gbps speeds will come to other communities soon
Yes, then we can all reach our upcoming Data Caps in 20 minutes each month!
Dogs are great judges of character, and if your dog doesn't like somebody being around, you shouldn't trust them.
HAHAHA, if they do cap the data plans... then i rather not have it :P
Congrats Kansas City!!! Maybe I should consider moving :P
