I have an Intel Core Duo running at 3ghz, this is on the old 755 chipset. Are there any games out now that would max out this processor?

Depends on the video card and such. I bet you could max out a C2D with some games on max GFX settings. Most games dont heavily rely on the CPU as much as the Video card. It will mostly come down to the MB and the PCIe lanes to the CPU and RAM that would show up.

But Civ5 can put my i7 through its paces, your C2D wold take a bit longer to work out all the players on that game.

guess it looks like some games would stretch that processor. Ok, I'll prolly have to OC it to make it last while I save for a quad on that chipset. Hopefully the 755 quads come down in price.

I just checked the Egg, looks like they have quads for the 775 socket starting at 150 at the moment
