↑ +1 to that.....

Even my netbook has usb3, a device which I doubt can use it to full potential.

On a 6TB / 3.5" external drive launching today, I wouldn't even consider one without the faster connection options.

The firewire 800 is a good, fast connection. Even the FW-400 is fairly quick.

Wouldn't buy this. Got a 2TB F/W 800 drive already. A NAS box is probably next.

Rofly; and I quote "~$550... no usb3.0 or thunderbolt.... I Dannno wd, you coulda had a v8", I think WD is drinking something, but it ain't V8, that is for sure. Of course they own like 60% of the market or something now. If they don't get off there butt's it is a long fall that is for sure.
