take it that you would be the one to run all the PC tech stuff and let Cliff focus on the music...

if you should be playing some bass on some trks it would be great to  'pop' those in hear too ! Cool

Most likely lol. I did his most recent upgrades on his newer desktop, which is for his graphic work (power supply, graphics card, ram... easy stuff lol) but when it comes to the hardware he needs for his music he won't need my help... I like watching him and he teaches me a lot about the equipment he uses and the way it all works together. i love learning!

As for sharing some of my bass playing, hahaha, I'm not that far yet. I've taught myself "Stand By Me" and that's it. lol I'll get back at it when I'm ok'd by the doc to lift stuff  Big Smile

and thanks rrplay :)

Cliff should be luck to have a gf / manager like you to do the PC upgrades and other PC stuff.come to think of it the PCAudio llab rig has some pretty groovy software and you might be able to slide that bass guitar and thump some bass lines & punch' them in right along with some of Cliff tracks ..

my won't he be impressed.Smile

That is a nice collection of guitars your boyfriend has... I mean never have I seen such an impressive collection of guitars on HotHardware.

Also about his music, from a snippet I've listened to, he's not bad... I'll have to listen more to him in my spare time to get a general idea of him though.

Ya thanks, his Les Paul and Ice Man are his faves! I personally like the IceMan best :)

That sounds pretty cool CDeeter! I wasn't sure if I'd like it but after the intro I started getting into it. Does it take a long time to make a song like that? Is it all digital sounds or do you play some instruments too?

It's certainly different from the dance music norm but overall, not bad; in fact, found myself liking it...

If possible, you should release an album full of these tunes...

Yeah I does take quite awhile for me to compose a song of that length. Everything is digital, no real instruments are used.

As I've mentioned I use FL Studio.

FL Studio can be used to create music from start to finish.

First I select the sounds I want from the browser on the left, dropping them into channels.

By clicking on each sound I can edit the properties of the sound such as attack, decay, sustain, and a lot more.

Piano Roll is where you lay out each note to be played, and in the lower half the properties for each note can be adjusted.

The mixing board is where effects can be added in, up to eight per channel. The mixer will expand up to 128 channels as needed, and has all the features of a real mixing board.

Next it's time to layout when each sound is played. The one below is for the song Thingamagigger.

And then time to render the final product as a sound file.

That's a quick description of the process!

Glad you liked it Smile

I have a few more uploaded and I'll add links below. Yeah my style is hard to descibe. That track was probably my most straight forward electro rock song. Most of the rest have more of a EBM/trance slant to them. "There and Back Again" is the longest at over 13 min and takes awhile to develop. Careful with Chuck's Rap Song lots of subsonics, it will bottom out woofers! Falling is the first track I made with FL Studio so it's kinda simple.
