Well, i had to visit a Ford Dealership last semester for a school assignment and we were playing around with SYNC. It was Fantastic!! i mean Sure it had errors, but it was pretty bang on 80% of the time.
My friend, an exchange student from Spain, english with an accent, now HE had a ton of problems, but thats expected. Analysing sound in real time.... thats hard!
But other than that, simple commands like, call home, play song, stop song etc, worked like a charm!
It felt soo James Bond like.
Yeah this is a very interesting part of the field now. Wireless devices in the car are very useful from many perspectives such as pure convenience to safety as well as beyond. The lockout, location, notification, maintenance and on and on options in a car now are really nice. It also seems this is pretty much across the board in most cases in cars now as long as you are buying new.
