The company turned on five new cell sites in both Rockland and Suffolk Counties, three in Westchester County, and additional cell sites in Nassau, New York and Putnam Counties. Wireless calling, text messaging and mobile Web surfing on the company's award-winning 3G network are now easier and faster for residents and visitors in these communities. One thing I have always considered a default with Verizon is network management. I initially tried out big red several years ago, if I remember correctly it was right after the VZ network connection guy commercials started. Right after I started with them as a provider I flew to Washington state (not DC) from Atlanta. I think I dropped service in the plane for about 20 minutes. I had a flawless connection the whole time I was there, and have been with them for years. I am of course a floater now with no contract. I may change to someone else if they offer the correct contract and an awesome phone. They are at least in line with At&t at the cost level, and I personally would like more options at a better price than they offer. I have never doubted them as far as a connection goes which of course is the main reason for a Cell phone right. In Atlanta though I generally have a very vibrant and strong network with anyone even T-Mobile and MetroPCS, so it comes down to cost because I can pretty much promise you if you are within 30 miles of metro Atlanta in any direction you will have decent if not great service connection wise.
