Hey and all your farmville friends will tell there friends, and they will tell there and mafia whatever friends, and they will tell all there castle age friends, who will then tell there zinga poker friends, and pretty soon everyone in the world knows for giving away one 2000 dollar PC. That sounds like a good idea to me.

Agreed! I also have embraced my nerdiness as I wear super geeky glasses. People see me and think nerd, even though I try not to be. It'll all change when I get lasek if I get the monies!

Allright I would absolutely LOVE to enter this contest, im 16 and have so many potential things to gain from a new computer like this and so do my family members I would share it with:]

My mom owns an advertising agency with alot of media and design work to be done, and with a computer with 6GB's of RAM and ATI's 6870 gpu this could easily jumpstart my work into graphic design or something similar by having the resources and a powerful enough computer to start getting into the field!

Okay I'm guessing that to win though, you'd probably have to follow all of the suggestions, post to facebook and etc and a little bit of above and beyond because obviously you're not gonna hand away a $2000 computer to just anybody but im at a little dilemma...

I HATE posting technology things, or anything business/marketing related on my facebook and becoming and advertising billboard because

1. Thats not what I use my facebook for, or what its meant to be used for

2. I'm pretty much a secret nerd, and this would definitely get some wth responses from my friends and family, and at 16 highschool is a very superficial, judgemental world so allthough I embrace my nerd as much as possible I don't neccesarily wan't to be broadcasting it haha

Since I left high school only 2 years ago I know how you feel. But just to be on the safe side I would check and make sure there are no legal rules for this contest that would prevent you from entering since you're still a minor.

A minor won a nice prize here recently and it went without a hitch. Once he won, he had his Dad involved with the details.

Yeah you just have to win age does not matter from what I understand as long as you have a guardianship holding individual to sign for you. So age does not matter! I will also tell you that Dave and Marco are big pranksters to, so if they have you standing alone on a podium you might wanna check all side supports as one might be rigged (which is why your the only one on the podium). Of course I know that was in your dream's as well. SO you should be OK :p

In practical terms most of my 'private data' that facebook steals are things I'm perfectly happy to share.

Imagine if all the lousy spam I get actually was tailored to things I was interested in.

However the sneaky way they seem to go about it is somewhat annoying and alarming.

I think one thing this might lead to is an opportunity for another company to come in and do the same social networking game but prove themselves and bill themselves as privacy advocates and clean up where facebook has dropped the ball.

Hey, if people get their panties in a wad about having to use Facebook to enter a contest then that's fine.  One less ballot from someone else increases my chance of winning!

In other news I read an article where Facebook is trying to copyright the word/term face.  Yes, it really is as dumb as it sounds.

Hey Realneil, and everyone else you all lost your right to privacy when the Patriot act was passed.

But it's still MY right to privacy, my right to say how it's shared or not, and certainly not  FaceBook's.

I still choose to share my information or not. I have a Gmail account and I know that they collect information on it. They don't hide it and they don't let everyone sip from the well of my information. I haven't been deluged by advertising and e-mails because of my Gmail account either.

FaceBook is out of control, and has been all along.

So you all go ahead and enjoy it. I'll just pass.

Its certainly easy enough to do, I did that when I was trying out some game that I didn't want f-ing with my account, but usually your fake id won't have as many friends. I considered the notion of using my fake id to make it look like someone cared about my real id's contest post and laud me as someone who really deserves to win but then dismissed the notion as being to corny and transparent.

I'm new to the forum - I wanted to say that aside from the great giveaway I am extremely impressed with the amount of info available to users on this site.  It is probably one of the most robust forums I have become a part of in a VERY long time.

As for the giveaway - Honestly, I would use it primarily to play some games that require high end power and also some digital photo editing and rendering.  I'd then give my current system away to charity,

Welcome, farfrmnormal,........

I'm always posting about "will it play Crysis on full" but actually, I've not even played that title in months,........Big Smile

Maybe I'll drag it out this weekend and reinstall it.

I completed all the necessary obligations to enter this contest, including sending in the email. I figured that i would get some sort of reply to say that digital storm received the email, but haven't gotten anything. Has anyone else had this problem or is it just that there is no response sent at all?

Heya rmstiles,

I don't believe there is an auto-reply, no.  Regardless, if you didn't get a bounce, I'm sure it went through.

I may ping DS to check the list just to see how many we have signed up now.

Thanks

How do you enter the contest through email?

and will me being literally, very new to the forums effect my chances of wining?

I literally joined at almost the same time this giveaway was announced

I post to almost everything I have an opinion on, which will hopefully help me on "getting noticed" haha
