So we'll just sit this one out. Maybe the next one will not require a FaceBook account.

We hear ya, but when a sponsor hooks us up with a system like this there are going to be stipulations from time to time. :)

As always, don't sweat it. We have more giveaways planned.  In fact, I think we've already lined up the next two! HAHAHA!

And I like that idea about coming up with a podcast icon / thumbnail! We'll have to work that in for another one of my builds...hmmm...

Oh God no. Not another contest that requires me to join or use Facebook.....

When will the madness end?

Once again, I will be sitting this one out as well because Facebook is evil and a waste of time. Where is Jimmy Kimmel when I need him to start rallying for people to ban Facebook altogether?

Even if this includes Canadian users, I will not be selling my privacy and soul to Mark Zuckerberg for a high-end PC.

I simply do not get what the major issue is with Facebook. The ENTIRE internet is a big security hole. You simply do not put anything on your Facebook page or any page of the internet, that you do not want the world to see. Folks, we need to get over it. At the bare minimum, Facebook and other social networks put you in contact with people and companies you might not otherwise get an opportunity to meet or reconnect with. Just control your own information and what you share and there is zero issue with FB, just like any other page on the internet.

How about this. If you refuse to post with Facebook, then just send and email to the Digital Storm contest box stating as such. We'll be picking a winner with them and contributions here count a lot too. That said, someone that does it all and is a good contributor will have one up on you.

It is kind of like Microsoft Dave. You always here people talking about how everyone should drop Windows and use something else. The problem is Windows is compatible with everything, not to mention is used by almost the entire planet if you use a computer. Are there options, yes tons of them, does Microsoft hurt technology, yes maybe in some ways in the past they have. The real thing; is that the PC, or computers would not be anywhere near what they are today, not to mention the internet, the need for it, or even smart phones as well as many other things were it not for a common relatively easy to use way to use them in the get go. Microsoft gave us that, no matter if it was a ripoff from someone else, or less free than any other OS, or whatever.

Either way this is a very nice machine, which I know that as it always happens some lucky HH user will walk away with at the end of the contest.

I don't use FB that much, maybe that's why I don't care signing in for the contest.

I would really like to have this computer...

that said posting this to facebook page when 90% of the people ther my family, co-workers, etc. will have no interest, well it just seems kind of like the behavior of a spambot.

Still, I would really like to have this computer...

Maybe I'll do something with groups, but then I wonder if that would effect my chances to win.

I guess I could just work on forum recognition first, sounds like this is not the first or last give away you've had. Nice site by the way, wouldn't have known about it if not for digital storm.

Stick around Resin give away contests are very common here, as is a healthy forum, very active contribution form the site's owners, and many other positive things as well. As far as the Facebook issue goes it is basically the widest, most effective, and lowest cost form of advertising. So I know why the companies insist on it.

Well, some of your family/friends may have an interest but if you just note it as something you're entering, I'm sure most anyone would get it as to why you're posting. Good luck! Groups is fine too actually.

This is very true. I treat facebook and people I work with the same way. If you don't want everyone to know don't put it out there.
