Corsair Launches New Line of Power Supplies for Mainstream Builders

Not everyone needs a Lexus to get from Point A to Point B, nor do you need a decked out power supply with all the bells and whistles (and matching price tag) to power a modest setup. That's the general mindset behind Corsair's new "Build Series" power supplies, which Corsair promises will provide "worry-free compatibility" with your system without putting a major dent in your Paypal account.

Designed specifically for single GPU setups, Corsair says it still managed to cram in a few high end features typically reserved for gold label PSUs. For example, the Build Series rolls all the +12V amps into a single rail design and delivers up to 80 percent energy efficiency. And while not modular, they do ship with "extra long-fully sleeved cables" so shouldn't come up short in that hulking tower you scored for cheap at the local computer fair.

The Build Series is available now for $50 (CX430, 430W), $65 (CX500, 500W) and $75 (CX600, 600W).
