To pay tribute to the hot (and final!), lazy days of summer, in conjunction with MSI, we ran a sweepstakes in wihich we planned to give away some HOT new hardware! This time around, readers had a chance to win a pair of MSI N460GTX Cyclone 1GB GeForce GTX 460 cards and an awesome MSI Big Bang-XPower motherboard. In addition, we planned to give away 10 copies of the DX11 and PhysX-enabled game Metro 2033!

As we've done with previous sweepstakes, we planned to give these prize packages away to randomly selected contributor to our on-line forum and discussion systems. And we have just chosen the winners!

Grand Prize: (2) MSI N460GTX Cyclone 1GB cards, (1) MSI Big Bang-XPower motherboard Goes to Inspector!

Runners Up: (10) Copies of Metro 2033 go to RealNeil, Marius Malek, Savage Animal, Slugbug, Manoy385, Lifeskills, CrowTroBot, AcarZT, Fat78, and Optix!

Congrats to all of the winners!

Now everyone, congratulate your compatriots and prepare for our next exciting give-away! Once we've got the details hammered out, we'll announce the next contest, but we promise it won't be long!

Thanks,
Team HotHardware

They want you to reply to marco's e-mail with your "fat78" Name first,.....with your real name and address included in the reply.

It's probably the full game in a box,...and it will most likely be mailed or shipped to you.

congratulations!

YES! thank you HH, LOVE YOU! :D

I would like to give a speech but i don't have one planed. i was just play SC2 and lost... This brought my mood right back up :).

Here goes my try... :D

Thank you for this great contest HH, I would like to Thank all the members of this community especially the admins Dave and Marco that made this possible. I would also like to extend a shout out to MSI for providing the goods to such a GREAT give away. I have enjoyed my stay here on HH since i first joined and heard of their awesome Sweepstakes. It was not till the mid of that contest did i find out this was a great community to stick around with. I got to admit i was only in it to win when i first joined, but then things change and im here on a daily bases. That's when i soon found out that HH gives so much for their members, a sweeps stake every month! Where else can you find such great people? now with the conclusion of this sweepstakes and me as the winner! i would like to wish everyone else that won a copy of Metro 2033 a big CONGRATULATIONS! Thank You Dave, Marco and the HH community!

How was that? i winged it :) lol

Question for Marco or Dave: Do i have to PM you the info right now or a in a certain time limit? i would like to talk with my parents about this if i can spend the cash to build the rig first, cause if i can't i will have to give up the prize :(. (Still siked i won! Big Smile)

Have fun with the MSI gear Inspector!

I have an MSI Eclipse mainboard and an MSI Radeon 4870 and they're quite good so I imagine that the BigBang-XPower and two GTX 460's will be awesome Big Smile

I hope you can persuade your parents to help you complete the build.

I think your selections are solid so far.

I have a HAF 932 and I imagine the HAF-X is far better.

I think you'd probably need a good monitor to go with that Smile

EDIT: The V8 is also a decent cooler for the price but there are better ones out there like the Megahalems

CoolerMaster is a good brand. That's all I use. But you may want to look at their Storm Sniper Case Instead.

I have one and it's absolutely awesome. Trust me on this, you'll like it, and it's only $139.00 right now.

Don't get a V8, Inspector. Get the V6 GT if you want to stick with Cooler Master. As for the case, if you want something smaller and cheaper go with a CM 690 II Advanced (Basic if you don't need a hotswap drive bay) or a HAF 922. If you want a full tower, the HAF 932 though a bit old now is still a good alternative to the HAF X.

Inspector:

No local stores you can use cash in? Save money on shipping too! Just ask your dad or a friend to drive you there. Also, you can always store the hardware for now and apply for a credit card in the meantime :) Good thing about hardware is that it won't go bad if its unused :p

Doesnt Fry's Electronics down there in the states still sell i7 930 for $200? That is a great deal. You can easily overcock it to i7 950 level with any aftermarket cooler and save $100.

HaF X is huge and expensive btw, the HAF 932 is cheaper if you want a fulltower but there are really awesome 60-70 dollar cases that are perfectly fine since the big bang is standard ATX anyway. HAF 912  (mid tower) is like 60 bucks and its great.

I can't think of any good local tech stores around me, so i think online is best thing so far.

O right, :) thanks for the suggestions so far!

So im thinking AF 922 or the storm sniper right now.

Mano, about the v6, what do you mean if i want to stick with cooler master? the v8 is from them as well. Is the v6 better then the v8???

@ Optix: Ya, true. i can always build it slowly :).

Edit: Well, lol the request went well :). My dad will take my old computer :), which means i get a complete new build :).

Suggestions for a power supply? media drive, HDD ECT... for a complete new build. :)

Good CPU choice, but I would go with this ram

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226030

It's a little more expensive but it has very tight timings.

For the heat sink I would go with the Corsair h50 or h70

Yeah inspector, I was just offering ideas:P

You were the one who said if they wouldn't fund the new build you would have to give it awayCool

I got an old case you could have, but shipping from Hawaii is more expensive than buying a new oneHmm

Either way you can now start trading now if necessary, at least you have an extra GPU. That would be worth enough for an I7, or you could spend two weeks at SubwayStick out tongue

If your needy, you cant be greedyHmm

I meant that if you want to stick with a Cooler Master heatsink you should go with the V6 GT. You can also take a look at the Corsair H50/H70 or the Noctua NH-D14. And yes the V6 GT is better than the V8. It even beats the Megahalems which is miles ahead of the V8. I think even Cooler Master's Hyper 212+ beats the V8 which can be had for around $20.

Also, be sure to put 1 slot spacing between your GTX 460s and add a side fan to intake cool air to the video cards. Otherwise, the top card may get too hot especially if you're stress testing your overclock with Furmark.
